MixByJonah: The First FL Studio Certified Trainer in Africa

1. Who is MixByJonah? The Story Behind Morocco's FL Studio Pioneer

My name is Younes Elachaby, but I’m known as Jonahlevrai. I’m proud to be the first and only officially recognized FL Studio trainer from Morocco and the Arab world (and as of March 2025, the only producer in Africa). As an audio engineer, producer, and educator, I’ve had the privilege of working with major Moroccan rap artists like Kouz1, 7liwa, and L’Morphine as well as brands like CIH Bank, PopArabia, and more, contributing to over 400 projects in total, including composition for the Moroccan film Faux Contact and the TV series Aam a Nhar.

My passion extends beyond the studio, leading me to create Mixbyjonah Academy, an online platform that has empowered over 3,000 students to master music production from home. My journey culminated in becoming an official FL Studio trainer in 2023, a testament to my dedication to elevating the Moroccan and Arab music scene globally.

My fascination with music began with the innovative sounds of Daft Punk and Mike Dean. Their production techniques ignited my desire to bring that level of excellence to Moroccan rap. I immersed myself in FL Studio, self-teaching and refining my skills. Recognizing the lack of accessible educational resources for local producers, I decided to share my knowledge. This led to my partnership with FL Studio in 2021, evolving into official instructor status in 2023, solidifying my role in the global music production community.

3. Breaking Barriers: Producer’s Challenges and Triumphs in Moroccan Music

Establishing credibility in an industry dominated by traditional studio setups was a significant hurdle. I had to demonstrate the viability of producing professional-quality music from home through consistent, high-caliber work. Another challenge was the scarcity of Arabic-language educational resources. To address this, I created tailored content and courses for Moroccan producers. My recognition by FL Studio and UNESCO validates the impact of my efforts in breaking down these barriers.

4. How MixByJonah Stands Out: Creativity, Education, and Innovation

What sets me apart is my role as both a creator and an educator. I’m not just producing music; I’m building a community of skilled producers. My sound is influenced by modern American sound design, bringing a polished, international quality to Moroccan rap. I also blend diverse genres like UK Garage, Trap, and Afrobeat. My commitment to sharing knowledge, rather than hoarding it, is what truly distinguishes me and earned me recognition as an official FL Studio instructor.

5. MixByJonah's Legacy: Shaping the Future of Moroccan Music

Witnessing the influence, I’ve had on the Moroccan music scene is incredibly rewarding. Young producers are now learning from my content and launching their own careers based on my teachings. I see a new generation of producers who understand the fundamentals of mixing and mastering, a significant shift in our industry. My recognition by FL Studio highlights Morocco’s potential on the global stage. I hope to inspire more Arab producers to pursue international recognition, proving our world-class talent. My mission extends beyond personal success; it’s about creating opportunities for others and elevating our collective musical landscape.

6. Building a Legacy: MixByJonah's Vision for Morocco's Music Industry

While my online presence and digital education have reached thousands, my ultimate dream is to establish a physical, state-of-the-art music production school right here in Morocco. I envision a space where aspiring producers can learn in a collaborative, handson environment, utilizing the latest technology and techniques. This school would serve as a hub for creativity, innovation, and professional development, nurturing the next generation of Moroccan music talent.

It would be a place where the knowledge and experience I’ve gained can be passed on directly, fostering a community of skilled producers who can elevate our music scene even further. This isn’t just a dream; it’s the next step in my mission to empower Moroccan artists and solidify our place on the global music map. I want to create a tangible legacy, a place where the future of Moroccan music is built, brick by brick, beat by beat.

7. Funding the Future of Moroccan Music

The vision of a physical music production school in Morocco, as described, represents more than just a personal dream; it’s a potential legacy for all Moroccan artists and music enthusiasts. To bring this vision to life, strategic funding is essential. Establishing a stateof-the-art facility, equipped with the latest technology and staffed by experienced educators, requires substantial investment.

Funding from sources such as the Ministry of Culture, philanthropic organizations, or forward-thinking music labels could significantly accelerate this journey. Such support would not only enable the creation of a world-class educational institution but also solidify Morocco’s position as a hub for musical innovation. This school would be a testament to our nation’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a thriving creative industry.

By investing in this initiative, we are investing in the future of Moroccan music, ensuring that our rich cultural heritage continues to evolve and resonate on a global scale. This is a call to action to those who believe in the power of music and the potential of Moroccan artists to join us in building this lasting legacy.
