Chart Breakdown: The Most Streamed 10 Artists in Morocco 2025

The end of the year brings clarity to the competitive world of music streaming, and the official list of the Top 10 Most Streamed Artists in Morocco for 2025 showcases a powerful blend of local dominance and international influence. While big numbers certainly matter in some contexts, it is crucial to recognize that the most important metrics are those that demonstrate growth in an artist’s streams; these numbers truly show that an artist is performing well, on the right path, and continually improving, thereby reminding us that comparison with others can often be a poisonous pursuit.

The official ranking reveals the following artists who captured the ears of the Moroccan audience: Taking the top spot is Morocco’s own ElGrandeToto (EGT) with 411 Million streams in 2025. He is followed by his fellow rapper Stormy at number two with 117 Million streams, Shaw at three with 57.4 Million streams, and Draganov at four with 74.9 Million streams. The list continues with Inkonnu at five, Lferda at six, and the Moroccan-Spanish rapper Morad at seven, who disclosed an impressive 1.46 Billion streams for the year. Filling out the rest of the Top 10 are Morocco’s veteran lyricist L’Morphine at eight, the French-Congolese superstar GIMS at nine, with 1.90 Billion streams, and finally, the French rapper Jul at number ten.

ElGrandeToto: Most Streamed Artist for Five Consecutive Years

Another year has passed, bringing yet another record for the undisputed champion of streams, Moroccan rapper ElGrandeToto (EGT). The year 2025 seems to have been his biggest yet, as he shared a screenshot showing a massive total of 411 million streams on Spotify. This figure is three times more than his first year of dominating the MENA (Middle East & North Africa) region’s Spotify chart in 2021, when he achieved 135 million streams.

This success makes him the most streamed artist in Morocco for five consecutive years (2020-2025) and, possibly, the most streamed rapper in the MENA region for the fifth year in a row as well. As of this writing, there are no official sources confirming the regional title, but based on several key factors, such as his dominance of the Official MENA Chart, his numerous international collabs, and the staggering number of streams, the chances are extremely high, as achieving 400M+ streams in a single year is an unheard-of feat for any rapper in the region.

EGT proved super prolific this year, a quality characteristic of his work, dropping his 17-track album SALGOAT in November 2024, with several high-profile collaborations with major European artists, including the likes of Lacrim, Kaaris, Baby Gang, Leto, and Morad, among others. The album exceeded 100 million streams on Spotify as of December 2025 and earned him a nomination for Africa’s Album of the Year at the AFRIMA awards.

EGT’s control over the charts was absolute in 2025. All three of his albums made it onto the list of the most streamed albums of the year, with SALGOAT (2024) topping the list, while 27 (2023) ranked 4th, and Cameleon (2021) ranked 6th. On the most streamed songs list, four of his tracks are featured, including “Bouhali” from his SALGOAT album, which clinched the 1st position.

He is already working on his next project; his bio description on Instagram currently reads: “currently mixing/mastering my mixtape,” and he symbolically changed his profile picture to one of Michael Jordan with six championship rings, signaling his multi-year title run.

Stormy - Second Most streamed artist in Morocco

Stormy: The Co-Pilot

The second position on the charts was firmly secured by Stormy, a testament to his phenomenal year, which saw him amass 117 million streams. After sharing the total of streams, Stormy followed by a story post featuring a lyric by American rapper M Huncho: “Who woulda really thought that I’m gonna be a star? Sat and taught myself the game, I learned it from afar.” His album, ICEBERG (February 2024), is largely responsible for this achievement, becoming the fourth Moroccan rap album to hit 100 million total streams (after EGT’s three albums).

Furthermore, ICEBERG ranked as the 3rd most streamed album of the year in Morocco. Individual songs from the project are still charting today, including “Moon,” “Maradona,” and the lead single “Popo,” with these three tracks alone totaling around 50 million streams on Spotify. Stormy’s high output, including the viral EP Omega (January 2025) with its song “Pirate” (13M+ streams), was well received and streamed.

His market dominance this year, alongside EGT, was further cemented by his presence on the list of the Top 10 Most Streamed Songs, where he placed three tracks: “Moon” secured the 2nd spot, “Pirate” landed at 3rd, and “Mizane” ranked 9th. This remarkable feat firmly establishes Stormy and ElGrandeToto as the two most dominant names of the year.

Shaw - Third Most streamed artist in Morocco

Shaw: The Biggest Breakthrough Artist of the Year

Shaw established himself as one of the leaders of the “new wave” and the biggest breakthrough this year, claiming the third position with 57.4 million streams. His success was powered by the deluxe version of his 22-track album BLEDARD, released in August 2024 to great success. The album shot Shaw into the spotlight and dominated the Spotify charts in Morocco for the whole year, ultimately ranking as the 2nd most streamed album in Morocco, only behind SALGOAT by EGT. his critical acclaim peaked when he was named the best rapper of June 2025 and featured on the cover of DimaTOP Magazine.

His most viral song from the album, “Wallahi,” ranked as the 6th most streamed song of the year. Shaw was also instrumental in the success of other viral hits, such as the morap track “Taf Taf” by Oldygotthesound (featuring Anys), which ranked 7th. Furthermore, he was featured on “Amnesie” (from Zakloow’s album Symphony IX, featuring Tagne), the most successful track of that project, amassing over 7 million streams on Spotify and 13 million views on YouTube.

Draganov - Fourth Most streamed artist in Morocco

Draganov: The Successful Crossover

Draganov, a Moroccan rapper and singer from Oujda, secured the fourth spot with 74.9 million streams. He framed his success in terms of efficiency, writing a caption on his screenshot: “Facts are facts. That’s a big check for only six songs a year.” Draganov’s streams were propelled by one of the year’s biggest records, the Rai-influenced track “Tach,” released in August, which quickly garnered over 10 million streams and 40 million views on YouTube within just a few months. Other successful tracks contributing to his total include “Bon Courage” (8M+) and “Kolchi Dyal Allah” (2M+) with Ramoon and 7ari, the latter coming from 7ari’s album 101.

Inkonnu and Lferda: No Promo, Just Music

Inkonnu remained a formidable presence at fifth place, even though he didn’t drop any new music in 2025 and “disappeared” from the public eye with no posts on social media. His enduring popularity is a testament to the staying power of his earlier work, as his album Arabi (2021) continued to make the list of the most streamed albums, ranking 5th this year.

Lferda claimed the sixth position as a truly unique artist in the industry, adhering to a “no promo, no media” philosophy, yet consistently remaining one of the most listened-to artists in the country for years. In 2025, he maintained his relevance by dropping one song, “Galere,” followed by the album Plan B in November, both of which generated millions of views and streams as expected.

Spanish-Moroccan rapper Morad - Seventh Most streamed artist in Morocco

Morad: Lamine Yamal's Favorite Rapper

The Moroccan-Spanish rapper Morad landed at seventh place, having himself shared a screenshot on a story post showing his massive streams for the year stood at 1.46 Billion. Morad’s deep connection with the youth is further highlighted by his prolific year, during which he was featured on over 20 tracks. These include viral collaborations such as “Tutto Bene” with Dandan, “Corazon Puro” with Rvfv and Rels B, and “RS6” with Dystinct. He also released a 7-track project titled Reinsertado 2.0.

Morad’s influence is particularly evident among public figures like FC Barcelona’s star Lamine Yamal, to whom he dedicated the project’s most streamed song, “Lamine.” An Instagram post released by Barcelona about its footballers and their Wrapped lists featured Yamal, showing Morad as his top artist. Furthermore, two of Morad’s songs, “Se Fue” (with Moncho Chavea) and “Olvidar,” appeared in Yamal’s top five most-streamed songs, underscoring his widespread influence in Spain.

L'Morphine: Two Decades of Lyricism

L’Morphine secured the eighth spot, recognized as among the country’s best lyricists for over 20 years and boasting one of the biggest discographies in Morocco with over 200 tracks. His sustained success is evident in his stable monthly listeners in the hundreds of thousands, following the success of his EP Yakine (June 2024) and the release of his 16-track mixtape, MC3, in September 2025. This year saw him deliver several successful tracks, including the popular collaboration “Fondo” with Clemando.

He also continued his established series with the track “Lmorphiniya 35.” In this installment, L’Morphine took aim at several figures, including other rappers like Pause Flow, and notably, Africa’s biggest streamer, Ilyas El Maliki, responding directly to El Maliki’s earlier diss track aimed at him. Furthermore, the most viral song from his latest project was “La Blonde w La Brune,” a track in which L’Morphine directly critiques the social situation in Morocco, touching on important topics related to corruption, brain drain, and the perilous journey of illegal immigration toward Europe.

GIMS: In One Year, One Album Contributed 885M Streams

The French-Congolese superstar GIMS secured the ninth spot in the Moroccan rankings, having disclosed a massive total of 1.90 Billion streams on Spotify for 2025. He celebrated this achievement with a reel on his Instagram, writing “C’est bon ? Merci a tous,” (Is that good? Thank you everyone). Furthermore, GIMS was a dominant force in the French market, ranking as the 2nd most streamed artist in France, only behind Jul.

He dominated the French charts, claiming the top spot on the most streamed albums list with his project Le Nord Se Souvient: L’Odyssée (released February 2025), which contributed a remarkable 885 million streams to his total count. This album’s success spilled over into the singles chart, where GIMS secured four spots on the list of most streamed songs: “Ciel” (1st), “Ninao” (2nd), “Sois Pas Timide” (4th), and “Spider” (10th), featuring Dystinct.

Jul: Charting in France, Belgium and Morocco

Jul, who has been the most streamed artist in France for five consecutive years, is successfully broadening his appeal, securing the tenth position in Morocco. Conclusion: Rap Absolutely Dominates the Moroccan Music Scene

This definitive Top 10 list confirms that Moroccan rap is the dominant genre, successfully competing with the global appeal of artists from the French and Spanish-speaking diaspora, thereby setting new benchmarks for the entire North African music landscape. The dominance of rap is particularly evident across all three major lists: Most Streamed Artists, Songs, and Albums, where nearly all successful names belong to the genre, with only a few exceptions like Dystinct’s album Bababa World (7th) or Draganov’s song “3dabi” (10th).

The sub-genres show a clear trend: the current generation favors rap music that is often mixed with external elements. This includes commercial styles like pop rap and melo rap, exemplified by EGT, Shaw, and Draganov. However, the scene also values conscious rap, seen in the work of L’Morphine and Pause Flow’s EP 112, as well as the unique blend of Moroccan rhythms and instruments, known as Morap, evidenced by the popularity of the songs “Taf Taf” (7th) and “Bouhali” (1st). It is clear that the audience shows growing interest in rap that successfully incorporates elements of pop, Rai, or traditional Moroccan local rhythms.
