Our Methodology: A New Standard for Ranking
We adopted a groundbreaking and innovative method to compiling our top 10 lists in a manner that defies historical norms. Rather than relying solely on the opinions of music critics, we gathered data from over 300 rappers, music producers, industry professioanls and rap music critics. To ensure their opinions were genuine and unbiased, we didn’t disclose the purpose of the survey when we reached out to them.
To ensure the utmost quality and authenticity in ranking Morocco's Top 10 Rappers and Rap Albums up to the close of 2024, we have meticulously curated a diverse panel of voters spanning the entire spectrum of the rap industry. Our respondents embody a broad cross-section of artists across all generations of Moroccan rap, ranging from trailblazers to emerging talents, from masterful lyricists to influential topliners, and from revered beat makers to esteemed music critics. This comprehensive approach guarantees that our rankings are infused with unparalleled credibility.
Our pool of voters is a true reflection of the vibrant Moroccan rap scene. It encompasses male and female rappers, individuals who rap mainly in Arabic, Tamazight, French, English or a blend of these languages and others. Among our voters are those who have significantly shaped the Moroccan rap landscape, artists with substantial followings alongside rising stars poised to make a lasting impact. We have the honor to proudly feature a rapper with a disability among our voters, highlighting our dedication to embracing diversity and fostering inclusivity in our community.
In a bid to eliminate bias towards any particular rap subgenre, artist or location, we have diligently assembled a diverse array of rappers and music critics representing various regions and styles, ranging from the conscious lyricism of boom-bap to the pulsating beats of trap, the gritty narratives of drill, and the innovative sounds of alternative rap, our panel encapsulates the breadth and depth of rap music. Our exhaustive efforts in constructing this voter sample underscore our dedication to providing you with the most reliable source for ranking artists and their work.
We're committed to transparency and credibility. Below each Top 10 List, you'll find the names of all the individuals who participated in our survey. For maximum transparency, their original votes were published in the form of posts on the Instagram page of our partner @L7ma9reaction, which you're welcome to visit.
