Known for his infectious hooks and lyrical prowess, Costa embodies the perfect balance of authenticity and ambition. Here are some highlights of his achievements:

  • 380K+ monthly listeners as a solo artist
  • Spotify RADAR Philippines 2025 Artist
  • Billboard Philippines #1 hit (First hip-hop act to achieve this milestone)

Cashman shared his thoughts on a Morap track: ‘Doza by PAUSE

It’s a cool mix of traditional sounds from the country and more modern production. I’m still getting used to it since it’s not what I normally hear, but I can tell there’s a lot of creativity behind it. You can really feel that they’re trying something different. The visuals are pretty straightforward, but they still manage to bring something new and interesting to the table. It’s a nice balance between being simple and standing out. I also find it really interesting how music hits differently depending on where you are in the world, what works in one place might sound totally new in another, and that’s part of what makes it so fun to explore.

Word of the Month: Freestyle

In hip hop culture, freestyling has different meanings depending on who you ask. Some see it as pure improvisation — rapping off the top of the head with no preparation. Others view it more loosely, where rappers perform written verses in a freestyle way, focusing on flow and vibe over strict spontaneity.

Platforms like LA Leakers, Hot 97, and Sway in the Morning are major contributors to the freestyle culture. Legends like Eminem, Black Thought, King Los and Tory Lanez built a reputation as one of the best pure freestylers alive. And let’s not forget Juice WRLD’s 2018 hour-long freestyle, where he barely paused for breath.

In Morocco, freestyle has always been a major part of rap culture. Platforms like Final Company, Zzn9aaa, and Lmebawe9 gave rise to legendary cyphers, while artists like Spoo Pow and Klass-A built their names on freestyle mastery. Some, like Fat Mizzo, Youss45, and Shinigami, even blew up thanks to iconic freestyles. Others, like Nessyou, blended freestyles into their albums.

Today, freestyling stays relevant through social media challenges, cyphers, and battles. It keeps hip hop’s roots alive, where skill is proven in real time, not just in studio takes. Whether it’s J. Cole weaving deep themes into unscripted bars or Harry Mack going viral for freestyling about random sidewalk objects, freestyles are a crucial pillar of rapping.

Letter from the Editor

At DimaTOP Magazine, we believe in the power of identity. We encourage artists, producers, and rappers to embrace their roots, to innovate with their heritage, and to create music that speaks to the soul of who they truly are.The world is tired of the same recycled loops, the same formulas, the same sounds. What the world craves now is freshness, and Morocco, or any bold, creative country, has the potential to take the stage and redefine global trends.

To our Moroccan producers and rappers, this is your moment. Look around you: your culture is rich, your instruments are unique, your rhythms are unmatched. Why imitate when you can create? Why blend in when you can stand out?Start by embracing your musical identity. Experiment with the traditional sounds that have been passed down through generations. Be daring, and don't be afraid to mix the old with the new. Find a rapper or artist whose voice can elevate your beat. Make a track that’s not just a song, but a statement. This is how stars are born. This is how trends are set.

This is what Morap is all about, a sound, a movement, a revolution. Let’s make it happen.

Sincerely,

DimaTOP Magazine extends its sincere gratitude to the following individuals for their invaluable contributions to this issue. Their expertise, creativity, and dedication have been instrumental in bringing this publication to life.
